This is an experiment.
Search engines are constantly sending out spiders to track down the content of your website.
Now if you put very popular content on your weblog, theoretically the number of hits should shoot up.
So let's see, what shall I put?
How about:
Lesbian party
Penis enlargement
Big tits
Oh yeah and Cat
Schwartz topless
That is actually a funny story and an interesting girl.
I'll keep you posted if the number of hits on my site go up.
Have fun

You Guys Are Sick, The Sculpture click on the picture to enlarge
I finally got back to my passion of sculpting.
This is only the rough draft, I still have to clean it up and correct a little.
Once done I will have it cast in bronze and if possible made into a marble sculpture as well.
2003, clay, 16" x 17"
Well I didn't actually find this on the web but I think it is a great idea:
I recently attended a wedding a of a French friend of mine who married his Japanese girlfriend.
At the reception each table had a disposable camera on it and the guests were encouraged to take pictures.
That fabulous idea is a guarantee that you'll have some funny pictures of your party.
Apparently it is a common practice in Japan these days.

Update on why Art Is Fattening.
It is so hard to go to the gym.
Like today I wanted to go but I can't because the whole area
is sealed off by the military getting ready to bomb a few
rebels out of Makati's financial district, where I live and
work out.
How am I suppose to loose weight, I ask you?

Art Party

Although it was a few weeks back we had a lot of fun at this party packed with artists.
The moment when inspiration happens and it provides you with the enthusiasm and energy to create, is a fragile grade to walk on.
A fly can knock you off and so can a breath of wind.

And What It All Has To Do With Stick Insect Hunting.
Since I starte my art blog in 2002, I have been intensely studying the possibilities of weblogging.
The more I know about it the more fall in love with it
In the meantime I get all my information from weblogs.
Newspapers, are you kidd'n.
I just don't get it.
What do you need a camera in your mobile phone for?
Why don't they for example work on improving the vibrating function.
Wearing my phone in my front pocket, I can see a much bigger benefit in that. And while we are at it, why not a phone which can give you a really nice blowjob?
Camera, get outta here.
I think your phone should buy you a beer, make you a sandwich,
give you a blowjob, and then go home ( and it wont ask you if
the antenna makes its butt look too big) --G.

Wood Firing Of Pottery
click on the photo to see
complete series
Like I mentioned before I had the great opportunity to observe Jon and Tessi Pettyjohn preparing a wood firing for pottery at their place in Laguna, Philippines.
Jon and Tessi are synominous with fine art pottery in the Philippines.
They are also very wonderful people and we had a lot of fun together.
The results are a bunch of very beautiful pots for them and a series of nice photographs for me.
But not only photographs, I have to mention that I also
had one of my pots in the firing and Jon gave my son and
me each a beautiful piece as a souvenier.
Here is the website of a friend of mine who is also one of the best known artists in the Philippines. BENCAB

Art Is Fattening
click on the photo to enlarge
Did you know that art has a lot of calories?
I am sacrificing my health for you.
Art is extremely fattening.
Every day I promise myself that I will go to the gym.
And every day I get so involved in my art projects and the website that it is getting too late to go to the gym.
It is usually that late that I can go straight to the pub.
Thanks to Henry Strzalkowski for allowing me to use the slogan: "Art Is Fattening"

Taking A Break
click on the picture to enlarge
One addition to Hong Kong.
On one of my trips I saw this old man taking a break from
the heat.
I spotted him from far away and I sneaked up on him and then took a snap shot form the hip.
Unfortunately I missed him totally.
All I had on the picture was his shoe and part of his trousers.
Somehow he stayed very clear in mind so I decided to draw him.
He might not be recognizable but the drawing represents the general idea and feeling.
People with principles have no fantasy and they are only too lazy to come up with alternatives.
And that is totally against my fantasies.

July 16, 2003
I checked out the "detailed access report" of my website.
The good news is that I get an average of 170 visitors a day on my website.
The bad news is that apparently most of those are coming from search engines of people looking for : "cut penis" and "masturbation".
To quote Dave Barry : And I am not making this up.
So much for having a lot of fans out there.
My assistant decided at one point to call one of my drawings :
"cut penis"
I guess I disappoint a lot of people.
They probably expected also something different when they are
being directed to my page of
masturbation hiding places.
Once you have seen art naked in it's raw stage, every attempt to publish
or translate it becomes almost pathetic.

In Hong Kong I was able to buy some linoleum.
So you will see a bunch of linol cuts coming on my website.
This is the first one I did in about 13 years.
It is a little harder to do than I remembered.
Fortunately, I find all the little mistakes add up to
quite an attractive print.

Lazy Day
I came back from a wood firing of very beautiful and artistic ceramics by Tessi and John Pettyjohn and friends in Laguna, Philippines.
Our watch at the kiln lasted until 2 am and in the heat I drank an awful amount of beer.
The kiln is still hot and I still have a headache.
Sorry no artwork for today.
Just peace and quiet, dark peace and quiet.
Once I have recovered I will write about it and show you some pictures.

Hong Kong The Artistic Conclusion
click on the photo to enlarge
Hong Kong, the artistic conclusion.
I am back in Manila refreshed and ready to rock the web again.
The whole trip was like an experiment for me on how easy or how difficult it would be to keep my art weblog running while I am on the road.
It is difficult. At least for me it is hard to be creative outside of my comfort zone.
I guess the trick is to constantly expand your comfort zone.
I need to develop a system on how I can produce my blog, burn it on a disk and then load it up to the net in an internet cafe.
Anyway it kinda worked.
So here is my artistic conclusion in form of a selection of photographs of Hong Kong.
Thanks to all the great people I met and visited in Hong Kong especially Dick who let me crash in his flat and Amber who was a superb tour guide.
I could have not done the great shots of the Chinese herbal doctor and the people in the pharmacy without her help.
Do you have to be consistent for a long enough
period in order that people can understand what you
are doing?
You might discover that being consistent for a while
can actually work in your favor.
Then again, consistency might be something totally old-fashioned.

The Dick Jones Diary

Hong Kong, Lamma Island.
I stay here with best buddy, Dick Jones.
As a sign of my appreciation I dedicate today's artwork
to Dick.
With him you can see yours truly and another good friend
of mine, world famous mural artist James Mackay.
Two days have passed by and between
trying to overcome hangovers, fighting of overbearing
heat and fighting Dick for a slot on the computer I
wasn't able to post much.
I do have some really cool pictures but again I don't
have the time to post them today.
I have to run to Hong Kong to meet some friends.
Tomorrow I will post all the pictures, promise.
I finally met Lamma Gung for the first time today and
we had a great vegetarian lunch at the "Bookworm"

Hong Kong, Lamma Island.
I used to live here temporarily and I am coming here
on a regular basis for the last 12 years.
It is blazing hot and there is not much you can do during
the day.
This picture pretty much describes the whole situation.
I made it to Hong Kong.
The flight was easy, the food disgusting.
Actually I didn't even try it because it is always disgusting
on flights.
Let the party begin.
This building wasnât three quarters finished the last
time I was here, and that was only last November.
They just started to put those glass panels in.
Despite all the problems Hong Kong is still moving
July 6, 2003
Starting tomorrow my weblog will be transformed to some
kind of travelblog.
I will be in Hong Kong for 5 days.
It won't be a real travelblog since Hong Kong is my second
home but my friend Dick and I are planning a view small
trips around the islands.
Art, Weblogging, Cyber-socializing,
Simublogging And What It All Has To Do With Stick Insect
Hunting.
I have been intensely studying the possibilities
of weblogging.
The more I know about it the more I fall in love with
it
There is no doubt in my mind that weblogs will be
one of our most important sources of information.
If they aren't already now.
I am not a big sports fan.
I love to run and hike but I don't enjoy joining ball
games or even worse, watching them on TV.
And I am not interested in people repeating to me the
scores they saw on the TV a while ago.
Give me first hand information. Tell me something about
you, a funny anecdote from your life.
I rather hear that than second hand information you've
got from the TV.
Even if I have to listen to my Taiwanese friend telling
me about how, because of his diabetes, his penis gets
smaller by the day.
There is always a bunch of guys in a pub talking about
the latest sports results.
They all have seen the same program yet they are telling
each other the same events over and over.
Luckily they usually leave me alone. It's common knowledge
that Andy isn't into sports.
The last time somebody tried to sucker me into talking
about the Grand Prix. I cut in:
"...And those rock climbers, have you ever seen how
they run up those walls?"
Guy: "Yeah, aren't those incredible?"
Andy: "It used to be that they just tried to get to
the top of those walls. Today they are racing each
other to the top.
I wonder what they come up next.
I have heart that they are planning to makes things
a little more difficult for them and therefore slow
down the whole event a little."
Guy: "Yeah? how?"
Andy:"They have to race to the top with a large cucumber
up their asses."
Loyd is part of my collaboration series.
In this series I let one of my kids do the initial drawing
or painting and then I finish the artwork.
The idea is based on a philosophy of mine:
Conceptualize like a kid
Research like a scholar
Execute like a draftsman.
Only kids can paint or draw without any inhibition
or consideration.
Loyd is a collaboration with my son: Marc Donray
